Latina Speaker

Are you ready to be Hispanicized?

YES!!! SI! I am still recovering from a fabulous week in Miami at Hispanicize, an annual conference where Latino influencers, Latina bloggers, musicians, and public relations professionals connect with brands to learn social media strategies and best communicate with our audience.

This was my third year attending the conference and it is always a great opportunity for me as a Latina Speaker and influencer to meet agencies, brands, public relations professionals, and bloggers to SYNERGIZE!

Hispanicize, Founder, Manny Ruiz

Manny Ruiz, founder of the Hispanicize conference always out does himself with even more opportunities for participants to learn, grow and network, all while having fun.

This year he included the Tecla awards, Positive Impact Awards, Target Sin Traduccion, and an epic closing concert at the Filmore in Miami Beach. Wow, Manny!

Besides the great networking, amazing workshops, and unforgettable evening events, Manny attracts amazing Latina influencers.

Veras and Deras Unite

On my first day of the conference, the highlight was attending Youtube workshops straight from the staff of Google/Youtube. This two-hour intensive workshop gave us step-by-step techniques to improve our Youtube channels and to get more subscribers. Another great workshop was a panel of the top Latino Youtubers sharing the secrets to their success, which you can guess is: CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT & ENTERTAINMENT.

I’m pictured here with my fabulous Facebook friend and social media strategist, Daniella Veras.

I am Lovin It!

My second day of the conference, McDonalds gifted us Latina bloggers with an “I am Loving It Voyage” coordinated by the Boden Agency.

Wells Fargo Panel

I think the best part of the conference for me was moderating a panel entitled: The Finance of Blogging with Hector Garcia of Wells Fargo and Marcos Orozco of from Gentrepreneur.

This panel, like ALL the panels at Hispanicize, was pure content and no fluff and the participants were so engaged that they stayed after to ask more questions!

Hispz Speakers

My mentor and inspiration, Nely Galan, did another home-run presentation with Coca Cola on the topic of Happiness for Happiness Day.

I am excited to announce that I am co-hosting a Twitter party with Nely Galan and the Adelante Movement through the DiMe blog collective who connected with me at Hispanicize. RSVP here  to participate and potentially win cool prizes. It’s on March 31 6:00 p.m. EST.

It was also epic, as always, to see social media guru Ted Rubin again, who is always so humble and approachable.

Join me there in 2016! Start planning now! Here are some tips for heading to this conference (or any that are as empowering!) that I learned this time around.

How to make the most out of the Hispanicize conference!

  1. Rest up before you go. Between the high-content workshops and evening entertainment you will be lucky to get four hours of sleep
  2. Network with the amazing Latina mom bloggers. I attended the Dime launch party where I was able to connect with my Instagram and Facebook friends live and form great relationships.
  3. Get on Board. Do not miss the McDonalds yacht cruise. It’s always a highlight of the event.
  4. Visit sponsor booths. This year sponsors brought massages, coconut water, hair and makeup stylists, and Neutrogena gave us an entire shopping cart of amazing products.
  5. Divide and conquer. There were so many great workshops at the same time. Like the fundamentals of Instagram, Best of Youtube, Facebook tips, and WordPress tricks. Have a friend attend one and exchange notes.
  6. Attend all evening events.Often the evening events are where the best relationships are cultivated. Book extra time at the end of your trip to escape to South Beach and be sure to take advantage of all the great networking opportunities.
  7. Bring your marketing materials. I promise you no matter how many cards you bring, you will run out. Collect other people’s cards and be sure to follow up.
  8. Follow up.The conference is nothing but a fun party if you don’t develop relationships. Be sure to schedule time to cultivate your relationship and connections and follow up with a phone call, thank you card and/or connect on social media.

See you next year at Hispanicize! Mark your calendars April 4-8th, 2016.
